that downconverter sounds like a nightmare setup!

We have the Clairmont Camera F900's; the primary reason I went with them as a camera house was that they are set up and modified so that all of these types of issues are taken care of. The downcoverter rides on the back of the camera full-time and the battery attaches to that (or you can use a block battery). It was a snap to go into Steadicam mode. They have rebuilt the top handle so that you can fly the rig underslung, standard thread holes built right in.

I'm using my Hot Gears to remotely operate the Arrihead right from the engineering station, so I have a 20" HD monitor to work from at all times, which is infinitely better than having to shoot "blind" (from the B&W eyepiece.

Hi DC Folks-

I'm in Fairfax County and just purchased an XL2, my first camcorder. My background is in acting and writing. I'd love to help out on any future projects any of you may have in store.

Jon, I am heading down there in August, 2005. Are you looking for a particular facility? I will be in Rio one day before heading to Pantanal and Iguazu Falls. Bob

DOP

Hello,

my name is Olivier Vanaschen, I'm from Belgium. I'm director and DP in digital video. I am highly interested by your project !! I am specialized in digital video and how to make it look more like film.

You can check my work at www.anotherstateofmind.be and www.marlathemovie.com .The camera used was mostly a Canon XM-2, just did a commercial using a Canon XL1.

I prefer you to check my work first and if you like it, we can chat further. I keep my fingers crossed ;-)

Have a nice day,

Olivier

Request: flash slideshow

Could someone create a flash slideshow out of 15 photos. They'll be mini-dv grabs so 640x480 is the max resolution. Probably the flash could be 1/3 the size so 213 x 160.

The deadline would be 12/1.

Please post your example & the asking price.

I can pay with PayPal & you can substitute my 15 photos for the temps.

Thanks,

Jed
