It gets interesting. The domain was registered by a DVInfo member Adam Burtle:

Perhaps he will comment :)

Leave it to the DVinfo crack research team. Hi, guys. It seems the cat is now out of the bag. We're getting a lot of e-mail inquiries right now, many of which I suspect are DVinfo instigated, and I can assure you, everyone who has emailed us will be receiving a reply in the near future.

For the moment, I'd like to coordinate something formal to post [on this site] to specifically address DVinfo users.. not to mention we don't want hijack Jim's forum (hi, Jim).. so give me a day or two to work out some logistics with Chris Hurd (Chris, check your email) and we'll have a bit more to share with you (via e-mail, as well as on DVinfo).

Thanks, guys.

I don't know how "crack" we are. A little WHOIS and little google. BTW, I highly recommend using private WHOIS registration with your registrar. Really cuts down on the spam and make the "crack research team" actually earn their title :)

I'm very interested in the project as I've posted in the other thread - I wish you guys the very best. Between you and RED, I hope the big boys are getting nervous and sweaty. The 35mm adapter market & Reel Stream has shown that small guys can compete. Obviously a full camera is much more complex but they've blazed the trail.

The camera market is long overdue for a shakeup and here's to you guys being able to pull it off

Adam, good luck, here we go again ;)

We have had so many people just trying to do these things (except for Rai and Silicon Imaging) it will be good to see one succeed.

I'm subscribed to this thread, so if there is any forum, or better located thread, just drop a link here, and I will see it.

Thanks

Wayne.

I've got a suspicion that CMOS video imaging technology might possibly be about to arrive in a "big" (like 35mm) way.

I have seen several CMOS cameras by now in work and holded it in my hands and let me assure that, CMOS look is way better than CCD look, and I am not technician to understand why, but DRAKE (I have done some shooting with it before they split up) MEDIATOR HD (russian camera www.ctt.ru) and I had experience with High Speed CMOS camera also, and I finally am sure that for some reason, their output looks very filmlike, I even can't explain why, but it is true, and thus I not only have suspicion that CMOS is after 35mm, but I am absolutelly sure that it is future technology in film production.

Looking forward to see both cameras on NAB.

Mate, it's been three or so weeks and I've forgotten all about this camera already (and there is two Drake teams, I think two Russian cameras, and I think one other I have forgotten, and one or two threads Chris started to ask for suggestions for some up coming cameras, and not to mention the new SI and Red one). We are getting swamped ;)

Anyway I have posted here or move this up in the forum list, so people wont forget it when they go to Nab.

Wayne, thanks for your input. We know people are excited about all the camera possibilities that are popping up, and it's been very hard for us to resist posting, but we've had to finish getting some details in place, so that our first announcement here would be something substantial.

I will follow up with a post in the industry news forum either tonight or this morning, the content of which we think will be of great interest to DVinfo members.
