$11,999 is the selling price, not $15,000, for the Canon EOS-1D C 4K Cinema Camera per a Canon announcement this afternoon.

The Canon EOS-1D C does in camera 4K recording to CF cards.

We have a pre-order link live at Texas Media Systems. We bill when we ship the EOS-1D C camera in late December.

I dismissed this camera until I saw this:

4K cinema and stills in one camera the size of a DSLR. Canon deserves real kudos for this (kudos - but maybe not $12,000 of my money :))

This camera will enable cinematographers to offer photographs, storybooks etc aswell as a cinematic film.

Can't believe how technology is advancing at a disgustingly rapid rate.

But it is not raw. How much color depth is there for grading etc. , let us wait and see. Does it have the same speed and accuracy of focus as the 1Dx has, will have to see the real field tests.
