Blackmagic (Thunderbolt) UltraStudio 3D
We are receiving a shipment of the new Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D's this week.
Finally, a reasonably priced solution for capturing SDI and HDMI on iMacs (that doesn't cost more than the iMac itself!). Not to mention MacBook Pro's and even MacBook Air's and mac Mini's (I'll need to verify on these last two). Anyway, I for one am excited to finally see one of these Thunderbolt I/O devices ship - I have high expectations for Thunderbolt for our industry. Let me know if you would like to purchase for one of these. Allan Barnwell Omega Broadcast Group - Professional Video Sales, Rental & Services |

Re: Blackmagic (Thunderbolt) UltraStudio 3D
Hi Allan,
Did you get a chance to test the ultrastudio 3D? I own one and I am having issues getting video levels out of the HDMI. It outputs 0-255 only / no below blacks or above whites. Tested using PP CS5 and FCP with Pioneer Elite Kuro 151 and Panasonic GT30 Plasmas. |
