edius 4.5 preview
http://www.canopus.com/products/EDIU...ewfeatures.php
things are going from bad to worse... why change all the buttons and layout again, ... i thought 3 to 4 was bad and had to relearn... now 4.5 changes everything... ...yet the things users wanted on the wishlist still have not been updated... still chugging away with 3.6, very happy... |

Edius is now a Grass Valley product. The interface is being brought in line with the new look of all of the Grass Valley software.
Nothing has been changed in the interface other than the look. The buttons all are the same, they just look different. And there are some features that users asked for. I am VERY excited about the future of the Product under the Grass Valley umbrella! :) Mike

I noticed the DVD authoring mentioned the ability to encode in AC3.
I wonder if this is available for encoding for another program, like a file export to be used with Adobe encore? |

I am very happy with Edius 4 - especially multi cam. Try editing HDV in Premiere or even FCP! Using Edius with HDV is a dream come true for real-time.
Mike - Any Idea how long it will be for a Vista version? The new update, 4.24, seems to run better under Vista 64 and speedencoder now works. Titlemotion still crashes and PCE crashes out of edius but works as a stand alone. |

And I hope they don't leave out support for the Canon 24F support.

Edius 4.5 seems to be capable to export in AC3 format - seen on the Canopus site :
"EDIUS v4.5 adds import support for Grass Valley Aurora® VMF* files, export support for AC3 files, and import/export support for AAF and GXF* content. The v4.5 update also adds editing capabilities for the following formats ..." Is it really true ? Marc |

Being able to encode AC3 in Eduis is a deal maker for me.

Yes it is. You can encode to Ac3 to an external file for use in other programs. :) .

We have the largest list of format support in the industry! I would be suprised if we did not have support for this. .
