Edius 3 or Procoder Express-DVD to AVI? at DVinfo.net

Which software should I use to convert a DVD to AVI? I have Edius pro3 and procoder express. I have tried both but my computer locks up...so I guess I need a better graphics board or more than 1 gig of ram.

Best way to capture DVD into AVI? I also have FRAPPS but picture stutters and sound breaks up. Maybe my computer is just too slow...?
