Blocky output with Canopus HQ Codec
I have been testing the Canopus HQ codec with 1080/60i material. Every render I perform looks incredibly pixelated, with chunky blocks of pixels in a "grid" across the image. I have tried various quality settings but I can't seem to get a decent image from Edius or Procoder. Any ideas?

Never mind. I'll use Cineform's HD codec. It looks so much better in my tests that it's a no-brainer! ...And yes, I realize that most of you would have told me this to begin with. :-)

John: I'm not sure what problem you're referring to, but many people are having good results with Canopus HQ. Let us know how things work out with Cineform.

Hey John,
How are you capturing to the HQ format? Are you using the stand-alone or within Edius? For some reason I had alot of the same problems you described with the stand alone but it worked like a charm within Edius. You'd think it would be the other way around but there it is. Maybe it might solve your problems? Chris Watson Watson Videography www.dallasweddingfilms.com |
