Canopus ADVC-300 and 64bit WinXP (x64)
Hi,
I would like to get the Canopus ADVC-300 now, but I'm unfortunate enough to have the 64bit XP version: Windows XP Professional x64. Does ADVC-300, its drivers and software install and work flawlessly on XP x64? p.s Don't get this O/S. Hard to find compatible firewall software and compatible virus scanners (two exist) and compatible drive imaging software (choose from one) and compatible pro-audio drivers (where?) etc. I installed an external USB-IDE hard disk enclosure. It came with a driver for "XP". The driver made my DVD-R unusable (not physically, but...). Many devices and software are "compatible with XP". Not necessarily so with x64... Oh, and Nikon Capture (photography) doesn't work either... |

If it requires device drivers other than the Microsoft media drivers, it has to have 64bit drivers. Check with Canopus is all I could recommend.
Hmmm... I had thought it would just be a plug and play device too... sigh |
