FCP to Edius
Can I transfer quicktime .Mov files from Final Cut Pro to Edius 5.5?
I know Edius can import .Mov files but can it import .Mov from a Mac? I have someone giving me a mini hard drive with their QT files and now I need to import them into Edius in order to edit. Can this be done? Thanks Jim |

Yes, as long as the latest QT codec is installed on your PC.

Not sure about Edius 5 and up, but earlier versions do not recognise clips with split track (dual mono) multi channel audio (they come in as video + one single mono track) ... but if you make the audio pairs stereo (and pan for separation) then you'll be good to go. As far as I know this is not anything Edius specific, this is/was a generic Quicktime flaw eg even QT Player on Mac don't properly recognise the split tracks.
Thought it worth a mention. |
