Looking for less expensive canopus ADVC300 substitute
Hi folks, I am looking for a unit with the features of the canopus ADVC300 (especially with component output and firewire) but that is considerably less expensive (if such a thing exists). currently the ADVC300 is almost $500, and thus too pricey. Any suggestions?

Hey Dwight. Probably your best bet is to look for a used or trashed video camera on eBay. Perhaps one where the lens has cracked, or the CCD burned--but the power, circuitry, and codec chip all still work. You could post a Want To Buy for such an item in our Private Classifieds forum.

I settled for the pyro a/v link. It does pretty much the same thing and, it has component in and outputs and it costs much less.
Thanks |
