24p DVDs from Canopus
Does anyone know if it's possible to make 24p DVD-compliant MPEG-2's from Canopus Procoder? I can't seem to get Maestro to like the file. It does like the Vegas Main Concept 24p output. I want to give it a 24p DV file made from Vegas and get a 24p dvd-compliant MPEG2. Thanks!

you might be able to set the frame rate, however i dont know what the drop down set up woudl be, im in pal land so i dont have to worry bout drop downs, but in teh end, i find that the Mian Concept encoders are quite clean.
Procoder is good, but slow... I can do a full hours worth of avi into mpg2 at about 2/3 realtime using main concept. if i use procoder, it would take a lil under 2 hours... |

Cause I like pro-coder's mastering mode, 2-pass VBR much better than the MainConcept encoder.

Yeah, this is for mastering. These DVDs will probably be replicated DVD-9s, high bitrate, etc. So MainConcept's not going to cut it. :)
It's filmed on Panasonic DVX100A's, so I really want to take advantage of 24p DVD players and HDTVs. I could telecine it with little trouble, but that almost defeats the purpose. |
