project working space?
OK, I am curious what is best to work in in vegas 7 with hdv from an XHA1 and at times also an HV20 1920 or 1440? whats the difference if I am shooting those two cameras? does the hv20 really shoot 1920 or 1440?
As for outputs what is best 1920 or 1440 and for what if I want to go to tape? whats best for wmv? and seperately HD video footage for saving an avi for archive and maybe bluray? its several formats I know I am really curious whats best for the different outputs even if it takes much longer to render seperately. |

Chris, the HV20 does shoot 1920x1080 video. But because of HDV standards it records the footage to tape as 1440x1080. If you want to get the full uncompressed 1920x1080 image then you will need to capture over the HDMI output. If you use the HDMI out for "live" capture then you can get it uncompressed at 1920x1080. But if you record it to tape first and capture it through HDMI yopu will still get the 1920x1080 image but it would be "after" the HDV compression (meaning wriiten to tape as 1440x1080 and then upscaled to 1920x1080).
I hope I didn't confuse you. |
