HD tape stock question... at DVinfo.net

What tape stock are you using for your Z1's and FZ1's?

I use Panasonic PQ63 miniDV tapes. I know some folks don't believe in that, and that only the hdv tapes should be used, but I've never had any problems and based on HDV filming and backup, I've used somewhere around 400 or so tapes...no known dropouts or otherwise.

Never really felt a need for the MQ tapes, let alone the higher cost. I tried some several years ago but the PQ's worked fine. $3 is better than $6 which is better than $15 and even though I'm very keen on top quality everything, I've never had any tape problems.
