Do HD stills need to be resized?

If I take a hd still from my hc1 will it need to be resized like an sd still would have to? If so how much do I squeeze it? Thanks, Dan.

The camera produces a 1440X1080 frame using rectangular pixels with a 1.33 PAR. To make them square, export to 1920X1080.

According to the manual, when you shoot a still (to a memory stick) with the HC1, while in HDV mode, the image is recorded as 1440x810 pixels, which is 16:9 (square pixels).
