Sony HDR-SR1 and 1080i and 720p
Hi.
I was looking over the specs for this camera on the Sony website, and wasn't able to find an explicit 1080i or 720p reference in their information. I searched around on the web, and found someone posting about the fact that this camera (HDR-SR1) can record 1080i. I was wondering, if an HD video camera can natively record 1080i, it is assumed that it can also shoot 720p? Is the fact that Sony mentions neither of these formats in their specs something to worry about? Have they created a non-standard video camera??? They have other cameras where they explicitly mention these standards, but not for this one... I would appreciate any helping hands that guide me through this forest of jargon. Thanks in advance, Raza |

Nope! Sony's HC1, A1, FX1 etc only shoot 1080i ... |

720p then?
So then, if it doesnt shoot 1080, can one assume that it definitely does shoot 720P, and not some entirely un-standard quasi-hidef format native only to the camera?
Sorry, I know its an absurd question, but Sony really threw me off by its lack of standard vernacular in the specs... Thanks for your reply, btw. Raza |
