Which downres is better: "HDV to DV" Vs. "HDV to DVCAM"
Apologies if this question has been asked before.
I am in the post production phase of my project which sits on about 10 HDV tapes. The project was shot on the JVC HD100, 720 res, and 24 frames/s. My question is: Which down conversion is better "HDV to DV" or "HDV to DVCam"? My intentions for the project: - I want a DVD end product - This project is not intended for broadcast - I am looking to enter it into film festivals. - I used the HDV format, knowing that we will downres it to SD when outputting on DVD. The reason for the down ressing is that I do not own the camera or the editing equipment (actually I am not editing it myself, nor do I intend to). The editors I have talked to so far, favor the downres (with a matching timecode). recapping the question: My question is: Which down conversion is better "HDV to DV" or "HDV to DVCam"? Any feedback on the above is appreciated. --cheers Sam |

Well, DV and DVCAM have identical picture quality. Probably easier to get matching TC with DVCAM though....
