Okay, here's the latest lowdown:
Silicon Imaging announced a new camera called the SI-1920, which has a 2/3" CMOS sensor and records full 1920x1080 resolution to 2.5" hard drives using the Cineform codec, which can be directly edited in Adobe Premiere. Pricing starts at $12.5K for a bare-bones camera body and about twice that for a full kit with HD lens.

Grass Valley has their new Infinity camera, which records JPEG2000 format to either Iomega "Rev" discs or standard CompactFlash memory cards. I think the price is $17.5K for the camera body, or basically the same as above for a complete kit.

"Red" announced details for their new HD camera, with some impressive specifications and a variety of options, starting at prices similar to the above and going up from there. Seems like a lot of unknowns with this camera, but could be very exciting for some people.
