Question about 720p
Hello there.
I have made a 70 min 1280/720p 25fps wmv file from a PAL 50i HDV timeline. It plays beautifully at CBR 8mbps and just fits on a normal DVD. I know it will play in most computers but how would it play on DVD players that can play wmv files in the land of NTSC? or will it still be like the PAL/NTSC thing with normal DVD's. Hope someone can answer my question. Paul |

It will be the same situation as for normal DVDs. That is, some higher end TVs (esp. LCD and plasma) will accept either PAL or NTSC input from the player. And some DVD players (esp.the cheap ones) will convert a PAL disk to NTSC output. But if neither of those options apply, the PAL wmv footage won't be viewable.
I'm not really familiar with the range of current wmv-capable standalone players other than the Avel Linkplayer. Someone else my be able to chip in with whether any do PAL/NTSC conversion... |
