Sony PMW100 Camera at NAB
Sony is showing a new camera at nab that is very nice and affordable. it has a 1/2.9 in expmor chip, 10x lens, xlr, shoots on 2 sxs cards that you can either shoot either 50mbs 422 or 35mbs 420. much larger than the nx70 but smaller than the ex1r. has a 3 1/2 inch lcd like the ex that is just as sharp and the viewfinder is very nice as well. also has the wb and gain toggle settings, theres a small iris ring below the focus ring that doubles as the manual zoom if you switch to that. also has a shotgun mic. and a big plus is the zoom control, very slow and solid on the zoom basically. all the manual controls are on the exterior of the camera like the ex1r, not on the lcd screen. its very light and uses the bpu series of batteries like the ex1r uses. list is 4500, they say will sell for around 37-3800. will be available in June. this one will pretty much take the place of the smaller nx70.
its just the right size , not too small but not as big as the ex1r |
