What sub $1000 do I recommend for my client?
I have a client and he wants a small consumer camera that he can ship around the country and record his sales people giving their presentations. Strictly for review purposes, so the camera just has to do the job, doesn't have to be amazing.
But, it does need to have a mic in jack so an external mic can be used. I just don't keep up with the consumer market, so I'm a bit lost. Anyone have a good recommendation I can send him? Thanks! |

I have recommended the Canon HFS10 to friends (and I've shot with it after they've gotten it) and it's actually not too bad. Big glass for it's size, codec holds up, HD looks good, records onto SDHC so it's cheap, and it has internal memory in case the person forgets a card to shoot on.
I have no hesitations recommending it, with the caveat that it shoots AVCHD so it's not the best thing to pull in for edit.
