Firewire 400 repeater w/ DVCPro100 HD

Has any one tried to use a Firewire 400 repeater with DVCPro100 HD?

I have (and love) Adobe OnLocation and connect my HVX200 to my laptop via Firewire. I'd love to go beyond the regulation 15' cable.

This repeater looks good: http://www.datavideo.us/fs/products/vp314_fs.htm

As my laptop and the HVX use 4 pin (powerless) Firewire connectors, I'd power the repeater with a powered Firewire hub connected to the laptop.

But: can a repeater work reliably with DVCPro HD?
