IM looking for a good HD camera that has more beef than the Canon HV20.

Beef in regards to what? Manual controls? Or image quality?

Any and all info needed if you have used one. Is the video quality good? How does it work with a mac being HD and firewire? I am looking for a larger HD camcorder without the 2k+ expense but I am coming from a Gl2 where I really liked a larger camera as opposed to a a smaller home use camera.
