TTC and GOP TC
Greetings to all,
I have just received a FS4ProHD for an HDV edit of a project... it was shot using the JVD GY-HD100 camera in 720/30 HDV. Upon import of the .m2t into Avid I receive an issue; Audio::PMM_INSUFFICIENT_MEDIA() Player version of duration is longer than actual [37631194] (37631046) There is a workaround - however the audio and video slip out of sync, by about 3 seconds, or so. It begins in sync, but slips out. I decided to go through the FS4ProHD menu and discovered the the HDV TC was set to TTC - upon further discovery I found the Avid (apparently) prefers GOP TC (working with the FS4ProHD) from 720/30 material... could this be why their is an out of sync issue? Also, I did try the 'workaround' of using the FS4ProHD as a deck input to capture into Avid - Without attempting to capture - the audio and video are perfectly in sync. However, when attempting to capture after, about, a minute or so the image begins to skip/stutter (the audio sound find, but the video skips). When checking the captured video the audio/video begins in sync, as before, but then slips out of sync. I attempted to capture from raw tape using the JVC GY-HD200 camera as playback recording into the FS4ProHD with the correct GOP TC selected - and still the file, once imported, give me the above error message and remains out of sync. This issue has been brought to the attention of Focus tech support on 2/7/07 - I have offered them raw .m2t files for their use/review and am awaiting to hear back.
