Upgraded to 2.1 w/ DR-HD100 - problem
I've done the upgrade to 2.1 and can't get the unit to record w/ HD100. I'm sure I've got something set wrong.
I have the HD100 connected via Firewire to the DR-HD100 (to DV I/O). On the HD 100, I have set in OTHERS - 1394 REC TRIG to SYNCHRO, BACK SPACE (HDV) to P-1394. On the DR-HD100: In Set up, I have EXT CTL OFF (I've tried PAUSE to no avail) TC EXT TC non-Drop (I tried to change it to Drop - which is how the HD100 is set, but it won't let me.) In HD Format, I have Quicktime in HDD Mode - HD Recorder In Record - Normal I have the DISP set to 720/30P Control is JVC GY-HD Anything stick out? I'm pretty flustered. Thanks |

More details:
When the unit is turned on and connected, the upper left corner of the screen reads "J STOP". Shouldn't it be reading Pause? Also it reads 720/30p TC and doesn't list 24p, even when the HD100 is in 24p. I get the feeling my camera isn't communicating with the device at all. In the HD Formats screen, it only lists M2T & Quicktime. Should it be also listing Quicktime 24P? On the set-up page, it reads v 2.1, so the upgrade obviously happened. Should I do it again? |

Hi Bill,
You may want to give tech support a call. There is no known issues with the 2.1 upgrade, so maybe they can go through the settings again with you. Matt |

I have a problem with the 2.1 upgrade and the JVC HD 250. Now the DRHD100 crashes and restarts eachtime a rec trigger is sent from the camera. I think I'll flash back to 2.0

Please note, the 2.0 and 2.1 upgrades are NOT compatible with the new JVC GY-HD200 and 250 cameras. The upgrade is for the GY-HD100/110 at this point. We are working on fixing the issue with the 200/250. I will report back here when we know more.

Thanks for that info Matt,
I knew I had 2.0 working but it was with our other camera...the HD100. We are now using the HD250. I assumed it would work. But I went back to 2.0 and it also crashes the unit with the HD250. Is there any way to use in a workaround? |

Not with QuickTime at this point. We are working on this so hopefully we will have it resolved soon. I'll keep you updated.

It doesn't do anything. It just stays in Stop. It will record manually, but won't bring the time code with it. I had this problem before the upgrade, but it was before I realized I had the wrong setting in the HD100. I'll check w/ Focus support, unless you can see something wrong w/ my settings above. Thanks. |

Double check that the HDV/DV switch on the camera is set to HDV mode. Make sure you are connected to the DV I/O port on DR-HD100. Do you see the J symbol in the top left corner of the DR-HD100 LCD? Your other settings look OK. If it still does not work, contact support.

Yeah, I've double checked all those things. The J is consistently there, I've swapped Firewire cables (to the DV I/O port) to no avail, and the HDV switch on the camera is in the HDV mode. Would it make any sense to perform the upgrade again before I get a hold of support?
Thanks. |

You could try it, but I think your best bet would be to get tech support involved.
