How to check bad sectors?
I just bought a DR-HD100. Is there a way to checkout the harddrive? I want to make sure the unit works 100% and is bad-sector free before I start shooting important content.
Can I do this in HHdisk mode through a connected XP computer for example with regular harddisk tools? I plan to do this regulary anyway. |

I have not tried this before, but I cannot see why it would not work. Once it is on the computer, it is basically just a FireWire drive. Always make sure that you format DR-HD100 using the format feature on the unit itself. Never format the drive using a computer.
Hope that helps, Matt |
