Thanks Kit...It seems to be just fine...
And I'd like to let anyone know here that Kit is a fine member of the DV community and I'd give a big thumbs-up to him if anyone is considering doing any dealing with him.... Len |

FS4-HD files in Final Cut Express Question
Hi...I'm using a firestore FS4HD withFCE 3.5 and it saves HD files in a (I think it was) M2p format which FCE can't recognize....the Focus site has a utility that you can buy for $39 that will convert these to a Quicktime format file....but I was wondering if it would be better to just capture in standard DV with the firestore drive because then I could just save as a quicktime format right away?....Does anyone know if these 2 methods would amoun to the same thing?....or should I spend the $$$?

Thanks Bill, i cant find any difference in the features between the FS-4 or FS-C. Only that the FS-C includes a camera mount kit.

Firestore FS 4 HD Setting Question
I am about to buy the Firestore FS 4 HD 40 gig direct to disk hard drive and I'd like to know which capture setting to use when shooting on a Panasonic DVX 100b at 24pA for an eventual edit on Premiere Pro 2.0. Do I use the Type 2 AVI 24 setting or the Quicktime 24 setting?

Is on what editing suite you are using? Adobe or Final Cut. I used Type 2.

FS4ProHD...HD files not showing video in FCE
Hi...I'm just testing my new FS-4 ProHD with my imac running FCE....My camcorder is a sony FX1...
I can record in HD Quicktime format on the FS....and it plays back through my camcorder ok.... When I connect to the computer and import the files for editing, I get the audio right away but the video is just white....Does this mean that I'd have to render these whole files?...I thought with the files recorded in the Quicktime format, I'd be set?....maybe I have to check some setting in FCE? thanks for any suggestions...
