FSHDD-1 Plug in Firewire Port
Firewire ground plug. Is this plug necessary for all FSHDD-1 drives. I just bought one from ebay and it has a plug in one of the firewire ports. There was a Tech support bulletin 120904 with it. It states that it was shipped with this plug for better grounding. It doesn't have a date on it and the other two drives that I have do not have this plug. I have been on Focus's site and could not find anything about this. Does anyone know if all FSHDD-1 drives should have this plug. I will try to call tech support on tuesday and ask them.
Thanks |

The FS-HDD1 drive should be used with the ground plug inserted. This was a later mod to units and helped to create a better ground when the drive is inserted into FS. If your currently drives are working OK, I it is not absolutely necessary to have the ground plug.
Hope that helps, Matt |
