I still can't figure this out for the XL2
How or what do I set my camera to to enable me to record with the Firestore FS-4 without having a tape in the XL2? (do I also need to set something on the FS-4)
The people at Firestore said there were some steps to take, but I am not finding them? |

Under the "Control" mode and the "Function" mode of the FS-4 are setting for "Tapeless," and I believe those both have to be set to tapeless. Let me know if this does not work and I will hook mine up and figure it out. I have only used it tapeless once and that was a while ago. Mike

You do have to have the camera set to DV control "ON," from the system menu. Mike

I bought an fs-4 a while back, but returned it. But recently we've been shooting a lot of footage ,and capturing is so time consuming. So I bought two fs-4's on the dvinfo classified. I plan to use tape also as a back up for important stuff...I'm still too scared to trust a hard drive as my only recording medium. the first time I used the first fs-4 ( last year) it took a shite, and I had no tape in the xl2. It was a political event, and I lost the first part of it.
