Just bought my first Firestore, I need some help

I am having a hardtime setting up my firepod for my XL2 and GL1 to be tapeless, I was told there were 3 steps to follow, but the manual says nothing about this, can anyone help?

I got it to record, however it is not showing up on my computer, (G5)

Chris,

This may sound silly, but the first time I used mine I failed to move the firewire to the computer port from the camera port.

Then, (and they put this where it is hard to find on the page before the hook up page, and don't explain it at all!!) you have to go into HDD mode, go to DD and press select. This brings up the connect screen and tells you to connect to the computer and then press enable. It will connect then just fine. When removing it, be sure to follow the directions there about exiting etc.

Hope that this helps, and if not let me know. A very poorly written manual in my IMHO.

Mike

I got it working, but now I was told by the Firestore people that it would capture all channels of audio, however I just finished shooting and imported the clips, and I can find channel 3 and 4 for my wireless mics?
How do I get those channels to show up?

Chris,

I have no experiance with that, but I would think that the first step would be to check your camera set-up, and make sure it can record all channels to the camera. If the camera is not recording it, the firestore will of course not record it either.

Well all channels are recording, I was monitoring it diuring the recording and I can pull it from the tape, but obviously the purpose of buying the firestore was to not have to capture from the tape..???
