Anyone have a FS-4 working with HDV with the Sony FX1? Any comments?

Does your message imply that the much-delayed HDV update has become available?
If it does, then when I can get my hands on it I'll let you know. If not, then we're all still waiting. Ray Liffen |

Ray- no it doesn't. I thought Focus already had some units HDV compatible- but I guess they're still working on it.
When/if anyone gets one with HDV compatibiltiy- let us know how it gets along with the FX1 (please!!!) |

The FS4 will record from the FX1 and Z1 when they are in SD mode, and also in HD mode provided they are set to downconvert from the ilink (1394) socket. So you can record HD on to a tape while you record SD on to your FS4.
According to the newsletter last week from Holdan, the UK suppliers, the HDV firmware upgrade is expected in the next couple of weeks. The delay has been because the Focus engineers have been trying to make it compatable with the ever-increasing range of HDV cameras. Ray Liffen |

DVinfo will be reviewing the HDV version as soon as it's ready, which shouldn't be too much longer. Stay tuned for more...
