FS-4 new user
I'm renting a Firestore FS-4 for a project and testing before my filming, and have a format question. I've got the DV Format set as RAW DV and it's connected to a Sony VX2100 and I edit in Final Cut Pro 7. No problems getting the video to my computer and into the timeline.
I've got my project as NTSC DV, and the footage is filename.dv, but the audio needs to be rendered when in the timeline. Is there a format I should be recording in to avoid rendering audio? I'm used to a tape system, and importing as DV from tape doesn't require audio render. |

I've actually only used the AVI TYPE 2 24P and M2T HD modes, but can you give the Quicktime format a shot? From what I remember reading before I got my FS-4 HDs is that the RAW DV format option requires you to get the Focus Enhancement software to extract the audio tracks.

Thanks. I've returned the device and have already completed the projects editing. Will try that if I need to use it again.
