When is HDV support?

I saw a thread with focus saying in a April, 2004 release they will support HDV. Well, just wondering the status?

Any chance one will be able to do a f/w upgrade on an existing
fs1?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

We do not plan on doing a firmware upgrade to FS-1 to add HDV support. Sorry about that.

you still can use the downconvert feature of the FX1 to record HD on tape and DV on the FS4.

Is there a similar feature for the JVC GR-HD1?

I would like HDV on the disk but in the meantime, having high quality DV on the disk and HDV on the tape would save me some post processing time.

I emailed the firestore company last night...asking about HDV for my HDR-FX1...

they said... End of March... and are actually taking pre-orders now.

Thanks

When I talked to them in the last few weeks, they told me nothing was in the near future, but I have may misheard.
