Firestore DR-HD100 switches to .AVI in HD QT mode
After about 2 hours of shooting an event with JVC HD-100U in HD 24p, to Firestore DR-HD100 set to HD and Quicktime, got an on screen message about the 1394 connection and Firestore wouldn't start on the next shot.
Turning the Firestore on and off didn't help. Checked all menu items, all OK. After a few tries, the Firestore started recording again and pictures recorded fine, other than the shots I missed. An error log shows - Creating file /mnt/VOL01/20090711-085857-01/20090711-204942b01.avi; File type = AVI Type 2 Stop occurred before any frames written to disk Creating file /mnt/VOL01/20090711-085857-01/20090711-204945b01.avi; File type = AVI Type 2 Stop occurred before any frames written to disk Creating file /mnt/VOL01/20090711-085857-01/20090711-204958b01.avi; File type = AVI Type 2 Stop occurred before any frames written to disk Creating file /mnt/VOL01/20090711-085857-01/20090711-205014b01.avi; File type = AVI Type 2 Stop occurred before any frames written to disk Creating file /mnt/VOL01/20090711-085857-01/20090711-205050b01.avi; File type = AVI Type 2 Stop occurred before any frames written to disk Creating file /mnt/VOL01/20090711-085857-01/20090711-205102b01.avi; File type = AVI Type 2 Stop occurred before any frames written to disk It looks like the Firestore tried for a few minutes to record HDV in .AVI, which isn't supported on the DR-HD100. What caused this problem? Does the Firestore need repair? |

Looks more that the unit was switched to record DV AVI instead.

Really sounds like the system was reset somehow (AVI2 is the default factory record format after a system reset). It was also probably set to DV mode (where AVI is an option). Has this happened before or since on this unit?
