DVCam & miniDV playback at DVinfo.net

Question: can I take a miniDV tape shot in a DVCam (Ikegami DV 7) camera - and playback for logging & digitizing in my Canon GL-2? Please explain -

Hi Glenn,

I don't believe that the Canon GL-2 has DVCam playback capabilities, but it may be more appropriate to ask this question to the GL2 forum:

Glenn,

Sorry to say, but NOPE! GL2 won't play DVCAM formatted tapes. I think some of the Sony MiniDV cams may though.

Thank you for the reply's - I also have a Sony MiniDV camera, so I will look into that as an alternative -
