Firestore files for chapter 11 protection?
Will we be able to get our Firestores serviced now that they're in chapter 11?

For now, according to the press release, they will continue to operate as a "debtor in possession." This isn't good news for HDV users, but the writing is on the wall - cheaper and more open solutions are becoming more and more commonplace on new camera models. Why spend $1400 on a proprietary hard drive solution with weird menus that you have to connect with a cable and power independently when you can just plunk a $60 8 GB compact flash card in your camera's slot?

Chris and others,
My Firestore FS-C just blew out it's firewire port. Beautiful timing. I'm waiting for them to reply, but, meanwhie, does anyone know if they are accepting repairs? Harry |
