Blue backlight is dead on FS-4
The blue backlight on my FS-4 no longer works.
FireStore charges $245 to fix this - they charge $245 to fix anything, so there is no way to determine if this is a major repair issue or a minor one. It is an annoyance to not be able to read the display in dark situations, but I can put up with it. Has anyone fixed it or heard of anyone fixing it without having to send it in? |

I have a DRHD100 with a cracked LCD. Works fine otherwise. It was the unfortunate victim of a backwards camera move. It's out of warranty.
I have taken it apart and the LCD panel comes out easily, but I have no idea where to get a new one. Any ideas for finding these parts? I would assume it's not a $250 part. DB |

The LCD part is labeled M534-LOA or L0A it is approximately 70mm X 50mm
Can't find this # on Mouser, still looking Very close to this display for $19 763-12864CZ-FSW-GBW Mouser Part #: 763-12864CZ-FSW-GBW Manufacturer Part #: NHD-LGC-12864CZ-FSW-GBW Manufacturer: Newhaven Display Description: Chip on Glass- Graphics 128 x 64 STN-GRAY 71.3 x 54.9 x 5.9 Not sure if anyone has any more info like voltage or interface type. That might help narrow it down. Also, this one doesn't say it uses a blue type crystal. Last edited by Dave Beaty; January 29th, 2009 at 03:45 PM. |

More info on this part
I removed the damaged LCD and both the serial connector and power for the backlight have easily removable connectors. On the cable of the LCD are these part numbers: 56219201T802 LDC75T534FDG 28 pin serial cable So far no luck in tracking the right part down on line. |
