Firewire Hub Suggestion
Hello,
Your help would be greatly appreciated. I connect a XH-A1 to a FS-4 HD during acquisition. I would like to split the DV signal and connect the XH-A1 to the FS-4 (for archiving and editing) and a PC (for live streaming over the internet). My request is for suggestions from people who are doing of have done this (other threads seem to indicate so) and what brand/model of hub was used. I want to avoid bricking my FS-4 :) BTW-I have a Firewire cable that has interchangeable connectors. |

You can probably achieve your goal with what you already have.
3-port FireWire interfaces can effectively act as hubs. If you can connect your equipment in the following way then it should work. Camcorder------> Port #1 of PC FireWire ----> Streaming Port #2 of PC FireWire ----> FireStore i.e., the PC sits in the middle. Whatever is entering the FireWire interface is replicated on the other ports. |
