A1 and Firestore mounting
I am looking for the best way to mount the Firestore on the XH-Aq1. What do you folks use? Pictures would be great.

yup...
I've asked this question in a few different places. I had an idea for a "plate" that would go between the camera and the tripod mount (that would basically simulate the mount that comes with the XL-2/XL-H1...etc), but I don't have the means to produce such a thing.
What I ended up using was a "screw to shoe" adapter. It looks like this: http://i22.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/99/97/5ae3_2.JPG It allows you to "tilt" the firestore slightly. Also, I've found that this arrangement allows you to use the short firewire that comes with the firestore in a way that doesn't put strain on your firewire port. (why in the name of Pete won't they put 6 pin firewires on cameras! the 4 pin are so delicate!) Anyway, that's what I've used. I'd like to come up with a more elegant way to do it, but other than some kind of large plate that goes onto the tripod (and the the cam goes on top) I can't think of anything. |

I did not know there was such a plate on the other cameras. I have some guys with a machine shop. Can you point me to a picture?
