(UK) Guild of Television Cameramen Workshop: Drones and Gimbals (Saturday 26/9/15)
I was sent a notification of this event which is free to members and £80 for non-members, so presumably there are still places available. For those using or considering UAVs in the UK it looks very good.
Quote:
There’s hardly a TV documentary, drama or news programme today that doesn’t include some footage shot on a drone or a handheld gimbal – but what does shooting this entail?
During this packed day we will look at: the pros and cons; training; the legal position of shooting with drones; as well as technical aspects and opportunities for creative filming.
PROGRAMME TO INCLUDE...
High-end aerial production filming with the ARRI ALEXA Mini, MōVI gimbal and ‘heavy-lift’ drone, by The Helicopter Girls.
Training for professional UAV work, by Captain Paul Nicklin of Whispercam and ARPAS-UK, including the regulations and insurance requirements for drone work.
The evolution of gimbal technology, using the DJI Ronin and drones; with Simon Beer of Production Gear.
Flyonix will demonstrate their all-terrain Buggy Cam.
Outdoor drone and gimbal demonstrations are planned but will be weather dependent.
Hands-on flying experience with DJI drones.
