Flight College for Drone Flying?
Here in Hawaii, a flight college is trying to be built from the ground up. The college will focus on 3 tracks: fixed wing professional pilots, fixed wing flight education pilots, and remotely piloted aircraft systems. I wonder if the remotely piloted aircraft systems includes video drone operations? Interesting development.

Re: Flight College for Drone Flying?
It doesn't sound like they're planing to offer anything for MR AP. I'm not sure why anyone would think its necessary.
All but the largest flight schools here in California have scaled back or completely closed their doors over the past three years. There's no doubt there will be a pilot shortage but Aviation is a good example of deregulation run afoul, they continually raise the minimums which requires student pilots to train longer and spend more money to get a starting job with a regional for about $25,000 a year. Bus drivers make more money. Flying a plane is really not that complicated. |
