FYI -Transparent Video Overlays and other digital business
Since I first worked out the process for creating transparent video and floating it in a layer above an existing site I've continued to look for instances
of its use across the web. Last week I came across the big players, thanks to a licensee of one of them here in Toronto. He did the Wal-Mart Canada web ad that uses a transparent spokesperson to pitch the next Xbox launch. His affiliation is with Humanize the Web, who are behind OnSiteVideos.com. The other and larger player is Rovion, Inc. Between them they pretty much own the space for bigger clients but no one I've run across is pitching the smaller retailers and others who could use the approach. I have my own examples at our netvideomaker site, and at www.contentshop.tv and yesterday I put a new one up at www.toronto-island.com. I've spent much of the past three years looking for and considering new digital business models and have just completed an eBook in pdf format, called "New Digital Business Models". Anyone interested can obtain it freely by visiting www.websitevideo.blogspot.com Just below the post describing it is one on the Wal-Mart digital greeter with a link to the page. Finally, anyone interested in shooting full body greenscreen for clients, but not in the processing that results in the necessary web files is welcome to contact me about outsourcing that aspect of the work flow.
