Video plugin for Wordpress? at DVinfo.net

I am looking for a good video plugin for Wordpress. I would appreciate your thoughts.

I don't use a special video plugin for my site, which is Wordpress based. All I do is cut and paste the embed code for the videos. Here's the link to the screening room page of my site: Screening Room | True View Films

It's just a simple page with several sample films. If someone wants to view more of my work, there are additional links in the sidebar. Right now, it just uses links from my Vimeo Plus account. However, I think YouTube works about the same way.

I hope this helps. If you need something more, maybe a real expert will chime in.

I use Youtube shortcode by Tubal Martin: WordPress › Youtube shortcode WordPress Plugins

It also allows you to embed vimeo.

Roger and Sareesh,

I am actually looking for a plugin that will help in playing the file from my server. I don't want to upload in vimeo or youtube. There are several corporates who block these two sites.

I have uploaded the preview of my film in vimeo and embedded the code in wordpress. I was told by a lot of people that they were unable to view the video but they could see the blog post. Inspiration for the Film – A Call in the Rainforest | Diary - Tales from India's Wilds

Today when I was in one of the corporates and tried to open the link, I could see that vimeo is blocked. Same is the story with youtube. :-(

Am now again back to square one. Have to find out a plugin which can play the file directly from my server which can play an MP4 file. Your suggestions appreciated.

Search for "hana-flv-player".

To use it, create a flash video ("MY-VIDEO.FLV"), upload it to a folder on your server such as "wp-content/videos", create a nice JPG image to act as the splash screen ("SPLASH.JPG"), and use the following code to make it play. Easy!...

try projekktor: Projekktor Zwei - Free HTML5 video player Downloads

It secures playback for all platforms, incl ipad. It has twitter and facebook link integration as well.
