Setting to upload on Vimeo the videos from HDSLR
Hola,
i need your help chicos.... Could you suggest me the best settings to achieve the best quality for my videos from Nikon d5100 or d7000 that i should upload to Vimeo? I tried to upload straight am h264 but the quality is not at the top.....A lot of artifacts... thx |

1280x720
frame rate same as original H.264 CODEC bit rate 1500-3000 kbits/s depending on what the contents of the video is AAC stereo 48k |

i've found the sony preset mp4 (internet/720p) to be very good....

no matter what it was shot in - even with fast broadband hd puts a heavy toll on bandwidth, (with very, very little gain).

It doesn't matter what it was shot at. HD on Vimeo is 1280x720. There's little sense in uploading it 1920x1080. Resolution alone is not the key. Bitrate is key. A video at 1920x1080 at the same bitrate as one at 1280x720 will look worse. Use the settings I gave you... 3000 bits/s for the best quality.

no. i played around with can / nik, but found them both to be awkward to use and though the pic quality is exceptionally good, totally impractical for professional (video) work.

Marcus, the settings recommended by Vimeo are listed in detail at Vimeo. For HD 5000 KBPS is recommended. If you shot in progressive, then you don't need to deinterlace.
