What's going on in the "master video bus" of hollywood movies, these days ?
Sometimes i can't believe, it could exist a such perfection in picture.
specially blockbusters. how could this be ? how could the gamma, the contrast and colors live in perfect harmony ( between shots ) How could levels be so perfect all the time ? Roberto ;) |

That is the artistry of the color timer/colorist, depending on whether the film is finished photochemically or digitally. The latter offers the most fine control over the parameters you mentioned. The ability to match skies from shot to shot (even when the original footage is shot over multiple days and different lighting conditions), for instance, is something that separates today's films from those of just a few years ago.
