Trying to make an NTSC DVD
Hi. I have an edited video shot in PAL that I need converted to an NTSC DVD. I've tried by exporting the sequence as an MPEG-2 file in NTSC. Then I imported the files into DVD Studio Pro as an NTSC project. The problem is that the final DVD has interlacing lines during playback especially during motion and movement. This is true for both playback on MAC and playback from an NTSC compatible DVD player. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

You need to transcode from PAL to NTSC using a tool designed for that purpose. It sounds like you are on a Mac, and if so, are probably using FCP Suite. Compressor 3 is a good choice for you. After you have your material converted, then you can proceed to convert your video asset(s) to NTSC MPEG-2.

Thanks mate. I tried another way.
Exported the file as a PAL mpg from FCP. Then I brought the file into Cleaner 6 and converted it to NTSC mpg. From there I bring the converted file to DVD studio pro and encode as an NTSC DVD. Works fine now. Thanks for the input. |
