Kudos, Cole!

Colby - I've had similar and non-repeatable issues with my dual 2GHz G5 into FCP 5.1.4, using a Sony Digital 8 camera, a Sony HC1, a Panasonic DVX100, a 100A, an FX7 and a JVC HD100.

So it's not the camera.... :)

My latest remedy in frustration is to ingest with DVHS Capture, which seems to work fine, or just try a little into iMovie.

Both programs ingest all cameras perfectly, which lessens my frustration levels enough to try FCP Rescue (which dumps the preferences files properly and also saves a set that works), and then fool with the Easy settings some more.

In my last project, I gave up and ingested the entire FX7 shoot in via DVHS Capture, then used MPEG VideoClip to transcode the 1080i60 footage to 720p24 for intercutting with the HD100 footage. It was only around 40 minutes of footage, but took around 4 hours to transcode. Needless to say, I'm getting a Kona card as soon as I run up against anything that looks like a deadline...

HTH
Cheers
Chris
