FCS2 G5 DVD export trouble
I am having some serious issues and still can not resolve them. I am on a Power Mac G5 and when I export via compressor for DVD, and I come back to see how the export went. I can not get any response out of the computer and the fans are running a million miles an hour. I have to hold the power button down and start the computer over.
I have alread done a complete reinstall of everything, all I have on the comouter is Mac OS 10.10 what ever the latest update is today and FCS2 and I am having this issue. I would really apperciate any and all help I can get here because I am really stumped here. Brandon Potthoff |

update
Talked with apple and he said that my G5 is dying that is what happens to this model when it starts to go down hill, not good news on the home front. I guess the bright point is that there is finially a resolved answer to the issue. I am just wondering how much that is going to cost????? I have had it just over a year that is the bad thing.

Brandon: please try and pick a better title when creating a thread next time. "FCS2 trouble???????" doesn't really help anyone browsing the boards to know what you're problem is and thus want to help you figure it out.
I've edited the thread title to better indicate your problem Thanks,

it happened to me, too. Then I have read somewhere how to fix.
Go to preferences and disable power saving off all kind. During the long process of compressing stuff with Compressor, one of the power saving actions might get active and shut down the system - while it is still working. For me this solved the problem of running fans on the dead G5.
