possible to have both FC Studio on machine..
Hello,
I am waiting anxiously for my Final Cut Studio 2 to arrive .. And Was wondering if it is possible to keep my current Final Cut/motion2/ Soundtrack pro/DVD Studio pro intact and still functional, and still install the new Final Cut Studio #2 ?? If this is possible , any advice on how would be much appreciated.. Thanks, Mike Moncrief |

I don't think that you can have both on the same machine. Some of the underlying components that FCS uses have changed from 1 to 2, so you have to take the plunge when you install.

Can be done...but it's not easy
The best way to do it while you're migrating would be to install OS X and FCS2 on a second drive (even a Firewire drive) and boot from that disk when you want to run the new version. Once you're comfortable, you can re-install over the old version.
But you cannot run two different versions of FCP using the same boot drive. There are many components that are overwritten with the new version.

It is possible, but not for the weak of heart. And from what I've seen not really worth the trouble.
If you're brave enough check out these links... http://www.scottsimmons.tv/blog/2007...final-cut-pro/ http://lfhd.blogspot.com/2006/10/versions.html |
