BR-HD50 & FCP - 422 Control
I'm trying to control my BR-HD50 via 422 in FCP 5.1.4 with no luck. A Keyspan USA-28X B is being used for a serial port. FCP recognizes the Keyspan.
I've enabled the "Remote Sel 9-Pin" on the deck, and I've tried "Type 1" as per the deck's manual and "Type 7" after reading a short thread I found. The switch in the front is set to "Remote". Within FCP I've tried both RS-422 options (Sony & Panasonic) but it still does not work. I'm running out of time to get this working. Any help would be appreciated. |

I forgot to mention that deck control over firewire (for HDV or DV capture) works well. I'm trying to capture via HDMI into an Intensity card. The capture works, but with no deck control. I will continue testing different settings. If someone could post FCP settings that worked for them I would appreciate it.

sometimes it's the simple things
Hi Adrian.
Did you ever get this sorted? I only ask as i have had the same issue and it was baffling me for a while. However, today i changed the RS422 cable and everything seems perfect. I didn't suspect the cable because deck control works fine with all the other decks in the edit suite. Just thought i'd mention it in case it helps anyone. |
