SD capturing on FCP
I can capture DV and HDV with Final Cut just fine when using the Easy Setup.
However, there is no option for SD (480/60p). Anyone know what's up? Camera: JVC GR-HD1 Final Cut Pro 5.0.1 Last edited by Joe Penna; May 5th, 2007 at 03:03 AM. |

Hi Joe.
I'm not personally familiar with your particular camera, but if it's anything like the JVC GY-HD100/101 series, then it probably records 480p60 using MPEG-2 Transport Stream rather than the DV codec. A fix for getting this footage into FCP would be to capture the .m2t file from the camera using DVHSCap and then transcoding the .m2t into an NTSC DV Quicktime movie using MPEG Streamclip, then importing the Quicktime into FCP. Although, I did notice another thread today on this board reporting some current problems with MPEG Streamclip (by two people) - so I'm not sure what's happening there. Normally MPEG Streamclip is rock-solid. If you do a search of this forum you'll find links of where to download DVHSCap and MPEG Streamclip from. They are both free. |
